Book a call. We’ll look at what Google and AI say about you today and tell you which service moves the needle first.
Book a CallFamilies planning ahead now ask ChatGPT what cremation costs in their town. Adult children ask Perplexity how to choose a funeral home. The answer names a few providers and skips the rest.
Driven Metrics helps funeral homes, cremation providers, and cemeteries become the names AI recommends and Google ranks, measured in at-need calls and pre-planning appointments, not traffic.

Funeral home Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the work of making a funeral home's prices, services, ownership, staff, and reviews easy for AI to find, check, and repeat. Funeral home SEO earns the ranking in Google and the map pack. GEO earns the name in the AI answer.
In the NFDA’s 2026 Consumer Awareness and Preferences Study, 82.4% of consumers said they are more likely to choose a funeral home that posts its General Price List online. 33.2% said online reviews settled their decision, up from 14.4% the year before. AI reads both.
Before AI names a provider, it looks for:
Your General Price List on your site, with direct cremation and package prices easy to find.
Family-owned or part of a larger network, stated plainly and matched across your listings.
Funeral director bios with license, years in the community, and the faiths and traditions you serve.
Direct cremation, traditional burial, memorial services, green burial, and pre-planning, each answered on its own page.
Google, Facebook, and Yelp, with recent reviews that mention the staff and the service.
The same name, address, phone, and hours everywhere, including after a sale or merger.
Federal rules require prices in person and by phone, not online. In a 2022 review, the FTC found fewer than 40% of funeral home websites showed any prices. If yours aren’t posted, AI quotes a competitor or a price comparison site.
Large networks often keep the family name after buying a funeral home. Service Corporation International, which runs Dignity Memorial, operated 1,485 funeral service locations at the end of 2025. When families ask AI if a home is still family-owned, AI answers from whatever it finds.
Lines like “embalming is required” or “cremation requires a casket” are easy for AI to quote and can violate the FTC Funeral Rule. Legal claims have to be right for your state.
Independent and multi-location homes, where AI weighs reputation, ownership, and prices.
Direct cremation providers, where families compare prices and often arrange online.
Cemeteries and memorial parks, where buyers compare property and pre-need plans over months.
Pre-need teams, where people ask AI the questions they aren’t ready to ask a funeral director.

The best agency shows you what AI says about you today, is honest about what Google Maps still decides, and reports on calls. Ask every agency, including us:
Death care providers that want to be the known name in specific towns and grow pre-planning. If you need calls this week, Google Ads and Local Services Ads are faster. We’re based in Northeast Ohio and work nationwide. More about how we work.
It makes you easier to find in Google and easier for AI to recommend. SEO covers rankings and the map pack. GEO covers what AI says about you.
It depends on what you need. Funeral website platforms bundle a site with basic SEO. Funeral-only marketing firms focus on Google Ads and local search. Homes that want to be named in AI answers, especially for pre-planning, need a GEO-led agency that reports on calls. That is who we work with.
At need, most families still call a name they know or search Google Maps. AI shows up earlier: pre-planning, comparing costs, and checking reviews and ownership. That is where GEO pays off first.
In most states it’s your choice. The FTC Funeral Rule requires prices in person and by phone, and the FTC has been weighing an online requirement since 2022. California already requires funeral homes with websites to post price information. AI can only cite prices it can find.
Local pricing and pre-planning questions have less competition than broad terms, so AI visibility can move in the first few months. Calls and appointments take longer.
Quote-based, depending on how many locations and markets you cover.
The next family planning ahead may ask AI before they ask a friend.
We’ll show you what AI says about you today, who it names instead, and what would change that.
